Fasting and Prayer

Jesus fasted and prayed

Matt 4:1-11

Luke 4:1-13

1 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. 3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

JESUS himself is our greatest role model

He fasted for 40days and 40nights, eating nothing

If God Almighty could fast for 40 days and 40 nights, surely we can fast.

When you being tempted in your fast, remember Jesus could do it, so can you.

Fasting with prayer makes us victorious Christians
Stronger in faith
Stronger in Prayer
Stronger in worship
Stronger relationship with God

Fasting with prayer brings us
The deliverance from destructive powers

Breakthroughs where is strong demonic powers that cause strife, division, destructions and sorrows

Fasting is a spiritual discipline and is not to impress Man

Matt 6:16

16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

When you fast, you don’t need to advertise it or brag about to anyone. You need to do the fasting as unto the Lord and the Lord himself with reward you openly

True fasting as unto the Lord is the avoidance of solids foods from your diet. Some people even avoid water in their fasting.

True fasting is waiting at the feet of Jesus and remaining at the feet of Jesus for many hours. As you engage in this type of fast, you will have your miracle.

True fasting causes to become triumphant before God Almighty.

During the fast, there should be more prayer, more meditation on the Word of God and more time in the Presence of God.

Do people see Jesus in you – do they mistake you for Jesus ?

  Read Ephesians 4: 17-32

… you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk …….

Prayer

Father God ,what a wonderful testimony this is  . I pray today  as i rededicate  myself to You, that You will place Your fire within me.

Fill me with your Spirit,I pray. Help me to walk  the talk .Help me to be a worthy and honourable ambassador for You.

I  want people to mistake me for Jesus

Amen

JESUS SAVES

“Jesus Christ came unto the world to save sinners.” 1 Timothy 1: 15

The Bible says “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23), and “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Everyone born into this world is a sinner doomed to destruction. We cannot redeem ourselves by reading books about religion, by trying harder to do that which is right, nor by following the examples of others. Our only hope of escape from sin’s deadly embrace is Christ, who stooped down in grace to redeem the dying.

The big question is “why did He come?” Simple, because HE LOVES US. Right from the beginning of time, God intended for us to be in constant fellowship and union with Him. Man has always wanted different. Thank the Father for sending His only begotten Son, to redeem us to Himself. (He loved us first, so that we can love Him in return).

Don’t lose heart. Even if people don’t love you, JESUS LOVES YOU.

Be Blessed!
