TWO WAY STREET
St. Luke 15: 16
“The boy became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.”
- Desperation can lead us in two ways: Either the right or the wrong.
- In the case of the prodigal son, it brought him back to his senses.
- We are all valuable to our heavenly Father.
- The arms of our heavenly Father are always inviting to those who choose to do the right.
LESSON: The boy’s father saw him return home. Filled with love and compassion, ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.
SEEING is BELIEVING
John 4: 48
“Except you see signs and miracles, you will not believe.”
- Craving after miracles was a symptom of the sickly sate of men’s minds in our Lord’s day.
- The sad reality is that nothing has changed in this modern time.
- Many refuse the gospel which is so desperately needed.
- Our heavenly Father is generous, but He spurns all dictation and maintains His sovereignty of action.
LESSON: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3: 16
LET US PRAISE JEHOVAH!
Psalm 65: 1-13
What mighty praise, O God, belongs to You in Zion.
We will fulfil our vows to You, for answer our prayers, and to You all people will come.
Though our hearts are filled with sins, you forgive them all.
What joy for those You chose bring near, those who live in Your holy Courts.
What joys await us inside Your holy Temple.
You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our Saviour.
You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.
You formed the mountains by your power and armed Yourself with mighty strength.
You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations.
Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your wonders.
From where the suns rises to where it sets, You inspire shouts of joy.
You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile.
The rivers of God will not run dry; they provide a bountiful harvest of grain, for You have ordered it so.
You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and levelling the ridges.
You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
The wilderness becomes a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.
The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain.
THEY ALL SHOUT AND SING FOR JOY!
HELP IN TIMES OF NEED.
Psalm 41: 1
“Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble.”
· We are surrounded by many who are weak and poor. It is a fact.
· God has created an awareness in our hearts toward such individuals.
· Let us not ignore this Christ-like duty which carries with it such great benefits.
· God will protect, preserve and bless you in your land, so that your enemies will not have advantage over you.
LESSON: To be a blessing to the weak and poor, is an investment of personal benefit.
