DO AS YOU HAVE PROMISED

DO AS YOU HAVE PROMISED

2 Samuel 7:25-26
“And now, LORD God, keep forever the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house. Do as you promised, so that your name will be great forever.” NIV

King David prayed this prayer to Jehovah:

  • Nothing pleases our Lord better than to see His promises put in circulation; He loves to see His children bring them up to Him, and say, “Lord, do as Thou hast said.”
  • God’s promises were never meant to be thrown aside as waste paper; He intended that they should be used.
    – When a Christian grasps a promise and hastens to the throne of grace, and cries: “Lord, I have nothing much to say but what you have promised,” his/her desire shall be granted.
  • Don’t ever think that you will weary God by reminding Him of His promises.

The sun is not weary of shining, nor the fountain of flowing. It is God’s nature to keep His promises; therefore go at once to the throne with “Do as Thou hast said.”

Take Shelter

TAKE SHELTER

The eternal God is thy refuge.” Deuteronomy 33:27

•The word refuge may be translated “abiding- place.” God is our abidin,g place. In Him, we live, we move and have our being.
• When we are with our God, ‘we fear no evil.’ He is with us!
• When we are with God we can commune freely with Him, laying open all our hidden desires.
• Why not share the love of Jesus with those who know Him not, so that we can have them join with us in God’s home and feel safe?

Encouragement

Encouragement for the Weekend

Hide quoted text

“Their prayer came up to His holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.” 2 Chronicles 30:27

Prayer is the never-failing resort of the Christian in any case, in every plight.

When you cannot use your sword you may take to the weapon of all-prayer. Your powder may be damp, your bow-string may be relaxed, but the weapon of all-prayer need never be out of order. Sword and spear need furbishing, but prayer never rusts, and when we think it most blunt it cuts the best.

Prayer gains audience with heaven in the dead of night, in the midst of business, in the heat of noonday, in the shades of evening. In every condition, whether of poverty, or sickness, or obscurity, or slander, or doubt, your covenant God will welcome your prayer and answer it from His holy place.

Prayer is an open door which none can shut. Devils may surround you on all sides, but the way upward is always open, and as long as that road is unobstructed, you will not fall into the enemy’s hand.

Have a Blessed Weekend.
