Waiting and Listening

In the midst of hopeless and impossible times, what is it that moves heaven on our behalf? It’s people who pour out their request before him, then listen for His answer.

Think of prophet Habakkuk, who cried out to God and spread out his complaint and great burden at the feet of the Lord, Then, when he was done, he didn’t budge from his place until he heard the Lord’s answer.

Habakkuk 2: 1 “I will climb up into my watchtower now and wait to see what the Lord will say to me and how He will answer my complaint.”

Is that what you do after you’ve prayed? Do you begin to anticipate God’s reply and earnestly listen for what He has to say to you and how He will direct you? Or do you hasten off to your activities and plunge back into the world of noise and confusion and 10 000 distractions?

The Lord will answer you when you wait on Him.
